Why are there only 11 stripes on your American flags?

No disrespect of the American flag is intended by excluding two stripes from the artwork. Simply stated, an 11-stripe flag can be made evenly from three baseballs and fits nicely on an 8"x10" matboard backing. On a side note, for those counting, many more than fifty stars are represented in each artwork as well.

How in the world did you come up with this idea?

This actually is quite the popular question. In Fall of 2001, Rueckert's college roommate was given a baseball seam bracelet as a gift from a friend. Rueckert decided to try and make a bracelet himself and even added velcro to make it more user-friendly. One day, he stretched the bracelet out on his desk and thought it looked similar to a red stripe of an American flag. The rest, as they say, is history. The first flag Rueckert produced is the image seen in the America's Game lithograph prints and t-shirts. Rueckert immediately pursued a copyright and shortly thereafter took the first steps in creating The Baseball Seams Company.
